What We Do
We are an alternative agriculture vertical, with three stages in our operations:
- Agriculture: We are an alternative agricultural producer, with both apiary (honey) and sugarbush (maple) operations, running hundreds of hives and thousands of taps. Our advanced capabilities in ag include queen grafting and rearing, high quality cut comb production, high vacuum sap systems, and one of the largest maple evaporators in the state.
- Food Production: Our facilities include a honey house, a sugarhouse, and a state inspected wholesale food production facility with advanced equipment for value added products. We have in-house professional label printing, custom engineered packaging, and advanced confections and liquid filling equipment.
- Sales: We have a significant sales force with self distribution in central Indiana capable of running more than half a dozen sales teams in parallel. We sell at events ranging from local farmer’s markets, to large festivals, to pipe and drape shows and mall kiosks.
Where We Hire
Currently all of our jobs are in central Indiana. We hire for direct to consumer sales in Indianapolis. And we hire for agricultural, food production, and sales operating out of our Kempton, Indiana facility.
Who We Hire
All employees must be able to run a Saturday sales event on their own, typically also including setup and tear down of a sales display, and transport to/from the event. Therefore dependable transportation of mid-sized car or greater, adequate physical fitness, good personal appearance, and interest and skill at sales, are all key.
Given the nature of our products and our values, personal affinity for high end foods, and honey and maple products in particular, is desirable.
Employees must be comfortable in multi-cultural diverse environments, both as a reflection of our diverse customers, and our diverse staff. Our culture is one of humor and charm, with a seductively tasty product, and owners notorious for randomly breaking out in song in the middle of conversation. We select for employees that fit that culture.
